Live sound covers bands, speakers and worship. Speeches, presentations and outdoor events get the same clean sound, run by me.

Fitness events, heat after heat.

I started on the gym floor. For CrossFit and HYROX-style competitions I run the music and the mic all day, so athletes get the energy and the crowd always knows what is happening.

Hi, I’m Hector.

I’m a full-on extrovert who loves a hard workout. Valor Sound started at a CrossFit competition, where I DJ’d to give the athletes the energy they needed.

Then at a wedding, the DJ was dying and just pressing play. I jumped in.

That is still the job: read the room, keep the floor full, stick to what you asked for, with your vows and toasts coming through clean. My wife Sarah is often right there behind the scenes, helping with the bustle and catching what I can’t see from the booth.

What I play

Tap a genre to see its typical tempo.

Throwbacks run 80s, 90s and 2000s. Latin covers reggaeton, cumbia, bachata and banda. Jazz for the cocktail hour, high BPM sets for the workout crowd. Your must-plays and your do-not-plays always come first.

Lights that move with the music.

Uplighting, dance floor lights, your monogram and a little haze, set for the room and the moment. Lighting comes with the experience, not as a costly add-on.

Wash the walls in your colors.

A real barn reception. The chips tint the walls in this preview; on the night, pick a color to match your palette or let it move with the music.

Your initials, projected.

A gobo projects your initials or names onto the dance floor or a wall.

So every beam shows up.

A light haze makes the beams visible without clouding the room, with fog for the big moments. Venue rules come first.

Black or white, to suit the room.

Drag across the photo. White for black-tie ballrooms and bright venues, black when the booth should disappear into the room.

More than music. An experience.

Your DJ should be more than someone who plays music. I create an experience that keeps you and your guests in it, from the first song to the last.

Questions couples ask.

Not here? Text Hector and ask.

Have you received all our requested songs for special moments?

Yes, and I confirm it with you before the day. We do a planning call, you send your song list (entrance, first dance, parent dances, cake, last dance, plus anything I should never play) and I go through every special moment with you, so nothing is left to chance.

Is my date still open?

Send your date through the form or by text and I will tell you, usually within the hour. A date is only held once the $100 deposit is in, so it is first come, first served.

Sí. Hablo español.

I MC fully in English and Spanish, and I can switch between the two all night for bilingual families.
